Description: "In one vicious night, Kirby Brown’s world is torn apart. Her best friend is dead, killed by a madman who is now after Kirby, and she has no idea why. When the police prove incapable of protecting Kirby, she has no choice but to trust a mysterious stranger. And while she finds herself inexplicably drawn to him, she fears the strange abilities he wields."
Pg. 47: "Though she should have been totally relieved, his words inexplicably hurt. She looked away. A man with his looks could have the pick of the crop. Why would he waste his time on someone like her? And why was she even worrying about it?"
Yes. Please tell me why are you worried that a strange man doesn't want to sleep with you at this time? You are running from strange monsters who are trying to kill you, remember? You even ran away from him a few minutes ago because you supposedly don't trust him. Is this really the time for sexual tension?
"I'm not changing with you standing there watching." And yet the thought of doing just that excited her."
GAG.
"And she had a feeling she hadn't even begun to scratch the surface of the enigma he presented."
Of course you haven't. You met him only a few hours ago.
Actually that scene where Kirby runs away from Doyle is pointless since the minute he catches her and takes her back to the motel she admits: "Not that she really thought Doyle would harm her in any way." Why run away then?! To annoy me?
I think this is as far as I'll go. I gave it a try but..
It's quitting time!
